Posted by AZER on 12:28:2000 09:29 PM: I think he uses Cammy AAA or Killer Bee Assault super to escape traps. Cammy has very fast supers to escape most traps. As for strategy, I think this is his team. Magneto - Projectile Cable - AAA - Projectile Cammy - AAA I never seen him play but this is what I do. I call out Cable Projectile and rush the opponent with Magento. If they try to close in on me, I nail them with Cammy AAA. Once you gain enough levels with Magneto, switch to Cable. Try to get them on a AHVB. If you time it right you can use Cammy AAA to hit them with an AHVB. I hope this help a little... BTW THIS IS NOT Justin's STRATEGY THIS IS MY STRATEGY OKAY... Don't take it the wrong way. I'v never seen him play. [This message has been edited by AZER (edited 12-28-2000).] Posted by daher1234 on 12:29:2000 01:59 AM: I use Cammy and Magneto, but this guy's team is very unorthodox IMO. I know he's won two big EC tourneys and even beat some of the Cali crew (Hiroshim, I think) but his team is not really suited for Cable. Cammy's AAA is one of those "hit's you off the screen and recover in the air" types and Magneto has really nothing worthwhile to contribute assist-wise. The AAA that's best suited for Cable are the ones you can OTG from and set you up for the AHVB. Cammy is a very, very underrated character because she's the direct counter to damn near every trick Doom can throw at you. She's also a good counter for runaway Storm. I really have to find out how he plays this team because the fact that he's won big with 2/3 of my team has me intrigued. Posted by Bernie on 12:29:2000 02:17 AM: I don't think Justin's strategy should really be discussed. It is his, afterall. If you'd really like to know, then I suggest you see it for yourself. He plays in Chinatown Fair in NYC. Besides, you shouldn't worry about that team anyway. He has enough back-up teams that you probably won't even see Mags/Cable/Cammy. Fear (I shit you not) Marrow/Tron/Guile. Ridiculous, eh? He's that good. And he's also pretty damn young, too. He's got a long way to go and he's this good already. Posted by Chocobo on 12:29:2000 02:29 AM: Why not discuss the strategies of the top MVC2 player on the east coast? People talked about Duc's strategies and that of the other top west coast players, I don't see why Justin should be an exception. I've never seen him fight Spiral/BH, and I suspect that would be a very effective team against him. Add Cable or Sentinel, who can punish his frequent assist calling, and I would think that would work. Of course, he can probably play the other characters fairly well and just switch to a Sentinel team to beat that Spiral down. Against Sentinel... well, Cable already does well in that fight, and he rarely misses any opportunity to land the AHVB. With Magneto... I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure he just looks for a chance to superjump, airdash to avoid BH assist, and then get in close on Sentinel with fierce-RH chains and lots of Cammy assists. My Sentinel/BH could never get the trap started actually, he always seemed to be close enough to get the Cammy assist to reach me somehow... it was tough. And I still don't know how he could start Cable on that team and not get his ass kicked before building enough meter to be effective. As for that Marrow/Tron/Guile team... I would think it has to be a joke, if I didn't hear that it was beating Eddie Lee a few times recently. I guess he's just damn good with those characters somehow, but I'm pretty damn sure a serious MVC2 player wouldn't lose to that mess more than once or twice, and then would learn the little "gimmick" and avoid it. I still would have to see it to believe it's any good at all. Posted by ProjektKrono on 12:29:2000 07:47 AM: I frequent Chinatown a lot and have seen him play with an assortment of teams. He is VERY good with a LOT of characters! I won't give away his strategy; you really have to see it yourself. His Magneto is very good at getting out of traps, mainly because of the air-dash and Cammy assist. He is good at setting up throws, and you're basically screwed if you don't tech it. Cammy assist really does help his team a lot, because of the way he uses it. He'll use Cammy assist if you're trying to rush him or, instead, set you up with Magneto with it. She also takes a bit out of the life bar if you get hit by it repeatedly. Anyway, that's all for now. Come to CTF on Fridays and Saturdays and play! Do you think he is good as Duc, Ricky or Valle? Posted by Voodoo on 12:29:2000 09:18 AM: When he was playing Victor that one time all he seemed to do was rushdown with Magneto. Pop whoever in the air, and goto town on them. Oh, and Guard break into AHVB x (enough times to kill). ~v00 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life... Shouryuu Ken! Posted by Monkey on 12:30:2000 08:37 AM: Justin is hella good with Magneto. With getting out of traps, all you got to do is have timing. Or, if you see that they fucked up, get out. There is no real trap where you can not get out of. http://www.gamegen.com/Gamepics/animations/m-magneto.gif -MoNkEy Posted by Kaboom on 12:30:2000 09:27 AM: yeah Justin Wong has got skill.i was at the NEC when he was playing.he is really good.when i seen him do that "Death infinite"thing with magneto against that sentinel,i'll tell you, he gained a lot of respect from me.it was really funny.i mean,Sentinel is already dead!!heh,i was the kid with the Capsule Corp. shirt. Posted by Sabin on 12:30:2000 03:45 PM: This isn't really related to the topic or anything - but man, if you're good at MVC2, you get a lot of fame on SRK, don't ya? I wish I was powerful and legendary like Justin ;P BTW, played his Marrow/Guile/Tron team today. Took that shit out with Venom/IM/Bonerine later in the day, although that team is pretty good. LOL Justin is my hero. Posted by XMetal on 12:30:2000 09:37 PM: haha justin has to downplay himself for fun for most of the guys he plays cause his magneto would overwhelm most of the guys there. sabin would give him lots of trouble of course if he used his best chars, but justin can still rape w/ guile and shit. and justin doesn't really frequently call assist. most of his assist call is done safely so it's no problem. anyway he uses cable-b not cable-a but seems to not use cable assist unless cammy needs to heal. hmm, well, let's just say he hardly lets random drones, rocks, swords etc hit him so he blocks all of them, but to a minimum and eventually gets close and looks for an opening. his team is basically magneto w/ cammy assist and then sticks in cable for the ahvbs. i can't really speak for him since he's lots better than me, but that's what i've noticed. oh yeah, and he throws god knows how many times permatch and keeps playing mind games w/ you. he's relaly good at getting out of traps and not letting any random swords hit him and he slowly gets closer to chars liek spiral and wiats for her to teleport or something for an opening. and yes he airdashes out of sent/bh trap, and brings in cammy usually, or cable somtimes to take drones so he can rushdown.com Posted by songohan on 01:01:2001 11:48 AM: all this kid does is fly with mag into a crossup and then calls assist in air so it can hit you from behind. then if his assist was psylocke your ass is aircomboed and then magnetic temoest. i hope you can mash. with cammy expect air combo into roundhouse cannondrill into killer bee assualt and his cable will gaurdbreak your ass. to play against this little cocksucker just simply have kens anti air assist which should teach his ass about flying. and remember he cant fly over you if your blocking in the corner punish his ass with ken but dont forget to block and simply turtle against him. he dosent like it he will get frustrated. just remember not to let him throw you. icemans no block damage helps alot cause all of justins assist can be blocked high or low and you just gotta worry about him trying to jump in which should be blocked high. just call out kens assist when he tries that jump in shit. and just worry about being thrown. What is magneto's death infinite? Posted by Kaboom on 01:03:2001 04:46 AM: the "death infinite"(i don't think thats' wat it's called though)thing is wat Justin did to a guy's dead Sentinel(anybody at NEC would have witnissed this)it was like, dash XX c.hk XX dash XX---and he does this forever back and forth.but i don't think that's how u do it,but i know that dash and the c.Hk is in it.it was so awesome!! Posted by songohan on 01:04:2001 07:37 AM: everybody is affraid of him but im not. id beat him with dan and roll and serverbot if i wanted to. here is how you do it. wait for him to attack then push him on the floor and attack while he cant get to the controller. do this until you win and it should be an instant perfect. i beat everyone like this. or you can just press his taunt button or step on his foot. i hope i helped. but seriously if kens assist wont take alot of life from him then i dont know what will. you can forget the tempest in air cause he wil mash out of it with remarkable accuracy. you just need the right team and be able to use all three of them as good as he uses his 3. picking a person solely for theyre assist will only get you so far. cause against him they will end up as point and will get fucked up. try and punish his assist then snapback. throw him frequently as well. Why don't you made a topic like Duc's one, so we can learn and compare the EC and WC styles. It will be really cool!!! Posted by xTrIgGeRMZZ on 01:06:2001 08:09 PM: fagnetomaster..... im sure you are versatile enough to change your gameplay and switch tactics to confuse all these people so dont worry about it. i bet you can beat most of the people here anyways. talking about your tactics means nothing, unless they can actually execute them like you do. hey guys! try to be original with your mags. dont copy someone else.
